Anyone who knows me knows I read a lot. Fiction and non-fiction.
And for many, the first long weekend of the summer marks the start of diving into books they haven't found time to read through the rest of the year.
Here are 3 of my favorite business books and a little bit about them.
The theme with all of them? People.
In my experience with finance types, this is the hardest thing for us to master.
How to communicate effectively, manage up & down, and build a breadth and depth of great relationships - with people.
Here are 3 books that I guarantee will up your people game.
Trillion Dollar Coach
by Eric Schmidt, Jonathan Rosenberg & Alan Eagle
A lot of us manage people. This is about an incredibly successful coach written by people with first-hand experience on what made him so special and successful. The beautiful thing = he’s not perfect either.
Death by Meeting
by Patrick Lencioni
We spend a lot of time in meetings. Read this super fun and short book on meeting types, purposes, structures and how we can get more out of them. I love the way Lencioni starts his books with a short story.
The Good Fight
by Liane Davey
Having difficult conversations is a huge part of high performance, well oiled teams. The Good Fight is jam-packed with great insights and specific examples on how to do this. If you sometimes let an opportunity pass you by to say something impactful - you need to read this book.
Maybe take one of these to the beach this summer?
Any books you can recommend for me??
